The Crimson tide play their home games in Bryant-Denny Stadium which can hold of over one hundred thousand screaming fans.
Not many football teams can match the history of Alabama. Alabama has won over eight-hundred games and twenty-six conference championships. They have won 13 national championships since 1892 with eight of those being AP national championships. The Crimson tide have won ten games or more thirty-one times and has won a record thirty-three bowl games.
The Tide have been coached by twenty-eight different men. But one man stands above all the rest. The legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant who coached in Tuscaloosa from 1958- 1982. While coaching Alabama, Bryant was able to win six national chapionships and create an atmosphere of winning at the university that has not been matched since. Many men have tried to live up to “Bear” Bryant’s standards and many have failed.
In 2007, Nick Saban left the Miami Dolphins to try and revive the legend of Alabama football. After a rough first year, Saban’s second year resulted in a a perfect regular season. Alabama lost in the conference championship that year and the Sugar Bowl to finish 12-2. In 2009, Alabama was back on top defeating Texas to win the national championship game. Despite a down year in 2010 the future looks bright for Alabama.
